NFL Receiving Props: Targeting Michael Thomas on the Week 1 WR Cheat Sheet

Although we're only heading into Week 1, there are so many injuries to wide receivers that we have to monitor.

With injuries, other players get the opportunity to shine and make plays. Some take advantage, others don't.

It's our job to determine which players will succeed in Week 1.

I've added three-player props for quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers. In this article, I'll be touching on wide receivers.

For fantasy football help, it's okay to look at different lines at sportsbooks to determine which player you should start on your fantasy team. Sportsbooks are typically sharp. Use that information to your advantage!

Also, check my other articles for the other positions, including quarterbacks and running backs.

NFL WR Cheat Sheet Week 1

Braxton Berrios Over 11.5 Receiving Yards (-115) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick

One catch could be all it'll take for Braxton Berrios.

Berrios shifted from the Jets to the Dolphins over the offseason. He's only 27 and has made a Pro Bowl as a returner.

You will be in good shape if you can get Berrios in space. Therefore, a little slant or wide receiver screen would be all needed here.

The speedy receiver has earned 10.1 receiving yards per catch throughout his career. In preseason, against the Texans, he caught four balls for 33 yards and scored a touchdown.

I think the Dolphins will find ways to get Berrios the ball. Why would they sign him if they didn't intend to use him?

Jonathan Mingo Over 3.5 Receptions (+136) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick

Jonathan Mingo is a rookie with no NFL stats to back up anything.

But D.J. Chark is out, and Adam Theilen is questionable with an ankle injury. That means Mingo will have to step up with a Panthers team that will likely trail for most of this game.

He's earned a catch here and there in preseason. He never really broke out. But the lights will shine brighter, and he'll play a complete game instead of playing a few series' here and there.

Mingo was the second-round selection by the Panthers. The goal was to have Bryce Young and Jonathan Mingo become an iconic pair in Carolina.

They can begin that talk today.

Michael Thomas Over 3.5 Receptions (-125) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds for this pick

It's great to see Michael Thomas back on the field. He's also got a reliable quarterback throwing him the football in, Derek Carr, this year.

Thomas hasn't played an entire season since 2020. He played three games in 2022 and added five receptions in all three of those games until he had another injury that kept him out.

Thomas added three touchdowns in three games for the Saints in those three matchups. He also had been targeted 22 times in those three games.

He's the Saints' wide receiver room veteran and should see plenty of targets. Thomas typically runs smaller routes and makes easy catches. He's not a long-ball threat. Therefore, I like his ability to earn easy receptions in today's game.
